When you're working with special needs kids your feelings and emotions are your weaknesses. Is tough not to fall in love with them, even the most challenging kid can be your favorite. We're not supposed to have favorite though. Is amazing how loving and respectful this kids are and how fast your life can and will change in a second full with joy.
In my morning assignment there's a little girl that has down syndrome. She does not speak in full sentences but she knows a few words, she's learning sign language too. One of her favorite word is " NO", she says no to everything even when she wants something. At the same time is easy to communicate with her, at least for me it is. Just to see the smile on her face every morning makes my day. Can you tell she's one of my favorite little angels :)Down Syndrome is a chromosomal disorder caused by the presence of all or part of an extra 21st chromosome. Down Syndrome also called Trisomy 21, is a condition in which extra genetic material causes delays in the way a child develops, both mentally and physically. It affects about 1 in 800 babies.
